? Many southwestern Connecticut students traded their swimsuits for backpacks as they kicked off the new school year Wednesday.
Jefferson Elementary School Principal John Reynolds said the first day of school couldn?t have gone better, and many students are excited about the coming year.
Although there were some first-day jitters among students, first-grade teacher Cherie Duque says the anxiousness wore off quickly.
In fact, one student told News 12 Connecticut that the first day of school is like going to Disney World, only better.
