A Norwalk man appeared in court Monday after being accused of punching his girlfriend during an argument.
Police say Jonathan Castano, 28, punched his girlfriend over the weekend.
Officers say it happened during an argument about an Instagram message. Police say the girlfriend had injuries to her left eye and had swelling and scratches.
Police say the girlfriend was able to report the crime and was taken to the hospital.
Police say Castano turned himself in and was arrested Saturday.
A judge issued a protective order saying Castano cannot see or have any communication with the victim.
Castano's bond was lowered from $10,000 to $3,500. News 12 is told he is due back in court next month.
