A local football legend is giving back to his community.
The second annual Tyler Matakevich Football Clinic was held at St Joseph High School Saturday.
More than 150 kids from 27 different Connecticut towns learn skills from some of the best, including Matakevich, Sean Davis and PJ Walker.
"Growing up, you didn't really have many camps and stuff to go to," says Matakevich. "So anytime I have the opportunity to come back and just do something for the community."
For camper Ellie Smith, the best part of camp was playing with kids her age who share her love for the game.
"I have three younger siblings and they all don't like football or are babies, so obviously they can't play football," says Smith.
The most important lesson Matakevich says he hopes the kids learn is perseverance.
"Just seeing them maybe drop a ball then the next time they catch it and they start smiling, then you're pretty much doing your job," Matakevich says.
