There remains some confusion over just how far next year's L train shutdown will extend.

Asking commuters about the shutdown yields mixed answers. Some people believe the line will completely shut down, and others seemed to have incorrect information about where it will actually stop.

The L train will continue to run between Rockaway Parkway and Canarsie and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. It was welcome news to some straphangers who thought they would be stranded.

The MTA has been open about its plans to shut down the L train between Bedford Avenue and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan for 15 months while critical repairs are made to the Canarsie Tunnel, which was damaged during Superstorm Sandy.

It's still going to cause a headache for those commuting between Manhattan and Brooklyn who will have to take alternatives like shuttle buses.

The MTA will shut down sections of the L train over more than a dozen weekends to allows crews to lay the groundwork for repairs.
