Lawmakers give final approval to extend HUSKY medical coverage to children, mothers without legal immigration status

The House voted Tuesday along party lines, for another budget-related bill that extends the eligibility to the HUSKY health insurance program.

The House voted Tuesday along party lines, for another budget-related bill that extends the eligibility to the HUSKY health insurance program.
It impacts an estimated 1,900 young children, and 1,400 pregnant mothers without legal immigration status, as well as post-partum care for immigrant mothers.
The change will cost $11.9 million by federal year 2024 according to the fiscal note.
It now moves on to Gov. Ned Lamont's desk.
