Lawmakers are proposing placing a cap on state gasoline taxes to help reduce the pain motorists feel at the pump.
Lawmakers say Connecticut has the highest state taxes of any state in the region. With a gallon of gas at $4, the state receives 49 cents.
Both Republican and Democrat state legislators as well as Gov. Dannel Malloy say they support a plan to cap the tax.
