Today marks the one-year anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene's landfall in southwestern Connecticut. Intense flooding and power outages plagued the region for more than a week. Many residents and businesses are still reeling from the damage inflicted. In Redding, First Selectman Natalie Ketcham says her town kept community buildings open and drinking water available. One homeowner says he purchased extra food, water and a generator in the event of future emergencies. Ketcham says town officials are looking to purchase three large generators by October.
