LIers organize donation drive for Mexican earthquake victims

<p>Some Long Islanders are doing all they can to help out Mexico after a devastating 7.1-magnitude earthquake left more than 240 killed and more than 2,000 injured.</p>

Some Long Islanders are doing all they can to help out Mexico after a devastating 7.1-magnitude earthquake left more than 240 killed and more than 2,000 injured.
Adelante of Suffolk County President Olga El Sehamy, whose family in Mexico was not injured during the natural disaster, announced a list of locations throughout Suffolk County where people can drop off donations for those in need. She is also looking for volunteers to help sort the supplies. 
"We're asking for medical supplies, bandages, latex gloves, peroxide…Also helmets for people who are helping to dig through the rubble," El Sehamy told News 12 Long Island
As critical rescue efforts continue in the country, donation organizers are talking to airlines and Mexican authorities in an effort to get all the donated items sent free of charge.
