Liquor store owners from across the state met in Stamford today to protest Gov. Dannel Malloy's plan to allow Sunday alcohol sales. Of the nearly 30 owners in attendance, the majority agreed that their biggest concern is a provision that would eliminate minimum pricing on alcohol. They say it would give big box stores the green light to undercut their prices and put smaller stores out of business. "It could lead to less salesmen, less truck drivers, less people in the warehouses," says Al Vertucci, owner of Al's Warehouse. Malloy says he wants to reach a deal with state liquor store owners and has made modifications to his proposal. He plans to announce the changes tomorrow in Hartford.
