A new study found that Fairfield County has the worst air pollution in the state of Connecticut.
The report from the American Lung Association says that Fairfield County has the worst ozone pollution in the Tri-State area. The report blames excessive traffic and industrial pollution.
Doctors and environmental activists say the result is high rates of asthma and other breathing problems.
There has been discussion in Bridgeport about closing PSEG's coal-fired power plant and perhaps putting a natural gas facility there.
Fairfield County has ranked near the bottom of the American Lung Association survey ever since it was started 16 years ago.
