Local GM dealership owners say the automaker's emergence from bankruptcy Friday will create leaner, more efficient dealerships throughout Connecticut.
The president of Karl Chevrolet in New Canaan says the dealership will feature only four models of GM cars after the sale of Hummer, Saab and Saturn and the elimination of Pontiac.
According to a company spokesperson, the GM workforce will be cut by 20 percent by the end of 2009. GM will also have fewer production plants with the goal of repaying its $50 billion in government loans before the 2015 deadline.
