A man is in police custody in connection to a suspicious house fire in Stamford.
Police arrested 26-year-old Matthew Miller, of Stamford. He's the ex-boyfriend of a woman who lives at the Mulberry Street home. Police say Miller threw a Molotov cocktail by the front door of the home around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
People who live at the home say they woke up when one of their dogs started barking. They then tried to extinguish the flames with a hose. They tell News 12 Connecticut that Miller had been calling the house and making threats over the weekend.
"He called on the phone about eight times he said I'm gonna kill you, your family and your friends," one of the residents said.
Miller faces charges including first-degree arson and criminal attempt at murder.
