A man is behind bars this morning after allegedly stealing a car and leading Fairfield and Bridgeport police on a chase.

Fairfield police say the man was pulled over on Butler Avenue in Bridgeport because of suspicious license plates. According to police, the driver and two passengers jumped out of the vehicle while it was still moving and fled.

Police from both departments searched nearby neighborhoods and eventually arrested 21-year-old Rafael Cooney, of Bridgeport. The other two suspects are still on the loose. Police say the car they were riding in was reported stolen in Stamford.
