Man charged with firing gun at Norwalk park
Police in Norwalk say a man was arrested for firing shots at a party attended by more than 500 people in Cranbury Park.
Officers were called to Gallaher Estate at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, after a private party reportedly got out of hand and a large brawl ensued. Ten area police departments responded to get the situation under control.
Investigators say Craig Baldwin, a private security guard hired to keep partygoers safe, twice fired his weapon. Police say they have not determined exactly why the weapon was illegally discharged. Detectives are also looking into whether anyone else at the bash had a gun.
No one was shot, and no other injuries were reported. Detectives say they are looking to speak with witnesses of the party.
The Parks Department says the massive party caused a considerable amount of damage to the historic mansion.
