Police are searching for a man who entered a YMCA day care center in Bridgeport Thursday with a gun and demanded cash.

Police say 250 kids were inside Colby Educational Center when the robbery occurred, but they were in a different room.

The incident happened about 3:15 p.m. According to police, the man displayed a gun to the person at the front desk and demanded cash. Once given the money, the man took off and police were called to the scene.

YMCA officials distributed a letter to parents, alerting them as to what happened. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bridgeport Police at 203-581-5201.
