A man's body was pulled from the Winchester Lake in Winchester, Connecticut, after officials say he was found unresponsive near an overturned canoe.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Conservation Police responded this morning to Winchester Lake where the Winchester Fire Department recovered the body of a man near an overturned canoe.

Officials say the man's name is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

 The person was reported missing to Winchester police last night, and officials say his vehicle was located near the Winchester Lake boat launch.

 The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
