Mayor announces NYCHA safety upgrades
The city's public housing facilities will soon see millions of dollars in safety improvements, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Three of the 15 sites in the $140 million project are in the Bronx
One of the upgrades the mayor says will have the largest impact is new lighting scheduled for installation by 2018.
City officials say poor lighting in low-income housing has been a major factor contributing to crime.
