Mayor John Fabrizi spends his last day in the office
After four years and eight months as mayor of Bridgeport, John Fabrizi spent his last day in the office Friday.
However, Fabrizi didn?t use his last day as an excuse to take it easy. He spent it unveiling the book mobile, which came from Seattle, Washington and cost $100,000. The mobile, which functions as a library on wheels, was paid for and donated to the city by DiNardo Enterprises.
Fabrizi says it is a sad day, but he wants to thank the people for giving him the honor of serving as mayor.
?The job has humbled me, made me more sensitive to needs of people, the community and city as a whole,? Fabrizi says.
Fabrizi?s term officially ends Saturday when Bill Finch is sworn in.
