A memorial run is being held this weekend for a Fairfield couple shot and killed during a robbery at their shop.
Friends and family of Kim and Tim Donnelly say they organized a 3.5-mile race called the Donnelly Dash to honor the couple every year. It will be held this Sunday at Tomlinson Middle School on Unquowa Road.
The couple was murdered inside their downtown Fairfield jewelry store more than 10 years ago.
Eric Donnelly says that his father was a big-time runner and his mom was always at every race to cheer him on. He says an annual community race is a perfect way to honor their legacy.
Organizers say that anyone interested in participating in the Donnelly Dash can register online or in person the day of the race.
