Milford is mourning the loss of a local marine killed in the line of duty.
Neighbors say the family of Corporal Jordan Pierson, 21, has removed the yellow ribbon from in front of their house. Neighbors say Friday two marines dressed in full uniform arrived to tell the family Pierson had been killed in Iraq. Pierson postponed attending college to join the marines.
Mayor James Richetelli says the community will do all that it can to support the family. He says the tree illuminated with red, white, and blue lights in front of city hall will remain dim until the funeral.
