Milford police intensify efforts to solve home burglaries
Milford police are adding marked and unmarked patrols after a series of home burglaries.
Twelve burglaries have occurred in the past month, all while no one was home. Police believe they are connected because of the time the crimes occurred and the manner the thieves broke in.
The police say that the suspect or suspects entered the homes by throwing a large rock or brick through a rear glass door or window between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Police say the thief or thieves are not targeting any one specific area, but are hitting streets throughout the city.
Police say that a gray, older model four-door sedan was seen near the latest burglary, which happened around 6 p.m. Monday.
Milford police are also working with Stratford police since Stratford has had at least seven burglaries that fit the same pattern.
