Milford police and Westfield Mall officials are trying to make the holiday season safer for drivers in the area.

Police announced an initiative yesterday to stop drivers from blocking the intersections on Boston Post Road.

Officials report that drivers who block an intersection near the Westfield Mall could face a $117 fine.

Both Milford police and Westfield Mall security will be patrolling the area during the upcoming holiday season.

Dan Kiley, general manager of the Westfield Mall, says their main objective is to keep shoppers safe.
