Milford veterans took time to remember D-Day ahead of its 70th anniversary Friday.
Local disabled American veterans that met at the Fowler Memorial Building say that the anniversary of D-Day is something that all Americans should observe and reflect upon.
John Stoverchy, 91, was a 21-year-old Army corporal stationed in the United Kingdom when the Allies invaded Normandy. He says everybody was terrified.
The veterans said that all of the World War II veterans will soon be gone. They say tomorrow will be one of the last chances Americans will have to honor the ones who took part in D-Day while they are still with us.
