Drug take-back events were held in several Connecticut communities Saturday as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The annual Drug Enforcement Administration event encourages people across the country to clean out their medicine cabinets and dispose of old and unneeded drugs safely to prevent future abuse and thefts.

The Westport Police Department was one of the many drop-off centers. Westport police have a year-round collection bin at their headquarters. 

Milford police also accepted drugs at the Milford Senior Center parking lot.
