The mother of the 7-year-old Norwalk boy who was killed at Rye Playland is using her tragedy to help others.
Jon-Kely Cassara died on the Old Mill ride last August. The boy?s mother, Elayne Cassara, is starting a charity in his honor. Cassara announced Monday that she's starting an organization called Fashioned 4 Life. Cassara says the group is formed for the betterment of women and children, particularly minorities.
The law firm representing Cassara in a lawsuit against Rye Playland and Westchester County helped get the fundraising started by donating $5,000 to Fashioned 4 Life. Cassara says her goal in life now is to help ease the suffering of others.
