A group of Morrisania NYCHA tenants says water leaks are becoming a daily occurrence.
News 12 visited 3135 Park Ave. East Monday to take a look at some indoor flooding. The residents called again on Tuesday to share more of the same problem -- several inches of water in an upper-floor apartment.
Many of the residents there are senior citizens. They say the water problems mostly occur on one side of the building.
The problem intensified Sunday and hasn't let up, according to tenants who provided video to back up their claims.
NYCHA says crews are working on repairs and cleaning up affected apartments. They are also providing claim forms for residents whose belongings were damaged.
According to officials, the leaks came from separate incidents.
They say Sunday, a pipe burst on the 20th floor. Crews made repairs.
Then on Monday, there was a broken pipe on the 17th floor that interrupted water service again. Crews fixed that, too.
On Tuesday, flooding broke out on the 12th floor and knocked out the building's elevator service for a while.
