All body care facilities like hair and nail salons have been ordered to close in Greenwich after COVID-19 cases doubled in town.

 

First selectman Fred Camilo issued the order Tuesday night after he announced 3 more people have become infected with the virus.

Since Gov. Ned Lamont closed all restaurants and bars, 100,000 servers and hosts are at home and not getting paid.       

“We have no health insurance, we have no unemployment insurance, we depend on the client to come in, cut hair, we get paid,” says The Cut owner Shirleyann Pompea.

 

In Connecticut, furloughed workers can collect up to six months of benefits each week, and the most you can get is $645, but most workers only qualify for half.
