Norwalk Community College held its 21st annual Academic Festival Wednesday to ensure students are aware of global issues affecting their future.

This year's theme was Creative Leadership for Peace, focusing on leadership and nonviolent communication.

The festival featured 20 events on topics including North Korea, gun control and school safety. Other activities included workshops, a keynote address, a Seder sponsored by the school's interfaith council and a screening of the film "Marshal," as well as a Q&A session with its screenwriter.

The festival also educates students on how to solve global issues in a peaceful way.
