Two families received help from local nonprofits after their stories were told on News 12 Connecticut.

Venus Rogers got a new furnace and heating-oil tank through ABCD after going through several winters without a safe heating source. Her daughter, 35-year-old Amber Rogers, has muscular dystrophy.

Joe Kaliko at the Needs Clearing House got a car for 21-year-old Jeanna Migliore, who needs transportation so she can take her father to get dialysis.

Kaliko thanked ABCD and the Robert Morris Family Trust for making the gifts possible.
