Deputy Chief Lance Edwards was recently announced as the acting fire chief at the Bridgeport Fire Department.

The move comes after Chief Richard Thode stepped down to join the Danbury Fire Department.

On Facebook, Chief Edwards wrote, "I've been blessed to be part of the best fire department in the State of Connecticut for the last 5 years and we want to continue to provide the service to the city of Bridgeport."
