The Town Players of New Canaan community theater in Waveny Park launched a capital campaign to create an education center that will offer the latest technology in theater production.
The theater's Patricia Spugani said it will have the latest and greatest digital technology in sound, lighting and broadcasting.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal met with the all-volunteer, nonprofit community theater on Sunday, pledging to explore federal funding options for the performance venue.
"I am considering measures that the federal government can take through its arts programs to support this community theater," Blumenthal said.
Theater officials said they had a record-breaking season that featured musicals, campy fun, family classics and more.
"I think people enjoy being entertained, I think people enjoy good performance, and we're fortunate to have all-volunteer cast in all of our shows that provides that kind of entertainment to residents in Fairfield County," said Eric Thunem.
Tickets for the next season are on sale now. For ticket information, you can visit The Town Players of New Canaan website.
