New Canaan teen takes plea deal in jogger's death
The New Canaan teen charged with hitting and killing a jogger with her SUV in Norwalk took a plea deal today.
Police say 17-year-old Brianna McEwan was surfing the Web on her phone when she hit Kenneth Dorsey, 44, back in March.
Prosecutors told the judge earlier this week that the state and the victim's family had agreed to a suspended prison sentence for McEwan under the youthful offender program.
McEwan's plea means all the proceedings are sealed and there is no word on what her probation entails. Her attorney says her record will be clean if McEwan completes her sentence and stays out of trouble until she's 21.
