New Canaan's Glass House opens to public
Phillip Johnson?s Glass House opened its doors to the public for the first time in its nearly 60-year history Thursday.
The Glass House is one of the country's most celebrated architectural landmarks, and is promising to be one of the hottest tickets around. Tickets to see the house are already sold out through 2008.
The Glass House sits on 47 acres in New Canaan. The structure was completed in 1949 and served as Phillip Johnson's home until his death in early 2005.
Local New Canaanites said having a national treasure in their backyard offers a true sense of pride.
