New city ordinance aims to crack down on blight in Stamford
A new city ordinance in Stamford promises to stiffen daily penalties for owners of blighted properties.
Many houses on the city's blighted properties list have residents concerned.
City officials say "blighted properties" are homes that the owners simply aren't taking care of.
However, the city says forcing owners to fix the properties up can be a long and difficult process.
They say the new ordinance will force harsher penalties for owners who do not clean up their properties.
