The Greenwich Police Department welcomed its newest officer.
Officer Steven Frano was sworn in at town hall in front of friends and family.
Frano is a Greenwich native, whose grandfather also served on the force.  In fact, Frano will wear his grandfather's badge.
Frano decided to make the switch from a career in construction to law enforcement after starting a family.
Officer Brian Tornga was also promoted during the ceremony to a master police officer -- a position that requires expertise in various areas including accident investigation and crime scenes.
