A Connecticut woman?s knee surgery is giving hope to other patients with the same condition.

Sandra Forsberg, 44, experienced severe and chronic knee pain from rheumatoid arthritis. Doctor David Bindelglass, of Bridgeport Hospital, says Forsberg?s own tissue was eating away at the cartilage in her knees. After trying medications and injections, Bindelglass advised Forsberg to get a new kind of knee replacement surgery. The surgery requires the use of high-tech prosthetic knees made specifically to fit women and accommodate how women move.

Forsberg says the surgery has changed her life. She says she is looking forward to dancing at her wedding, something she says she wouldn?t have been able to do before the surgery.
