A new law attempting to crack down on prostitution will be going into effect Tuesday in Connecticut.

The new law prohibits anyone from using the title of masseuse in the state except for licensed massage therapists. The legislation was designed to target brothels operating under false titles, which some say gives all masseuses a bad name.

"It doesn't help the legitimate massage industry, those who spend countless hours getting their license," says Senator Bob Duff of the fake parlors, one of the politicians who pushed for the law.

The legislation follows a string of police busts targeting suspicious massage parlors. License masseuses are happy with the new law.

"We're part of the health care organization versus that other which is adult entertainment," says Jocelyn Keith, Director of Admissions at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy.
