Fairfield officials cut the ribbon on the brand-new Early Childhood Center playground on Melville Avenue this morning.
It features a bigger place to play, a soft rubber surface, and is designed to be safer for kids.
The superintendent says the playground is a vital part of the school program, not just a place for recess.
