News 12 got a tour inside Milford's first brewery after the municipality's Zoning and Planning Board greenlit the proposal from Tribus Beer Company Tuesday.
Work on the brewery is underway at 100 Raton Drive. One area will house the brewing machinery, and another will have a pub that will provide tastings and serve pints. There will also be an outdoor patio and beer garden.
Co-owners Sean O'Neil and Sebastian D'Agostino are childhood friends. Along with partner Matt Weichner, their dream and passion project involves making Tribus a true beer destination.
The project faced some pushback from neighbors who said allowing people to drink on site would lead to increased traffic and drunken driving. They also had noise concerns.
But Tribus owners say there are no plans for outdoor music or entertainment. The brewery will be open five days a week, from noon to 9 p.m.
They hope to open the brewery in March or April. The brewery also plans to self-distribute around Connecticut.
