Some fifth-graders in Mott Haven scored big at graduation with a visit from an NFL player.
Baltimore Ravens player Chris Canty visited students at P.S. 43 to celebrate a reading challenge.
In January, the Bronx native dropped off hundreds of books at the school and sent volunteers every month to read to the students as part of his Reading Buddies Initiative.
"The program did well," said Dr. Giovanna Delucchi, principal at the school. "All the students read a certain number of books. They all improved in their reading skills."
Canty invited all of the graduating students to his summer football camp. The camp kicks off today and runs until July 1. It will be held at George Washington High School in Manhattan.
