Several National Hockey League stars were on the ice in Stamford tonight in support of the Obie Harrington-Howes Foundation, a charity that helps people with spinal cord injuries.
The athletes supported Obie Harrington-Howes, a former local hockey coach who was paralyzed in a freak accident in 1997.
Hockey player Ryan Shannon organized The Big Assist, an event to help the charity by getting NHL players to compete in a local hockey match.
This year's roster included the Montreal Canadiens' Max Pacioretty, Martin St. Louis from the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Islanders' Matt Moulson.
The Big Assist has raised more than $100,000 in the past three years.
