State police say a missing woman who set off a statewide alert for her and her missing baby will not face charges.
Kelley Acevedo, 33, lives in a drug rehab center in New Haven and was given a 24-hour pass to go to court in Norwalk for a larceny case Wednesday. Police say she went, but then took off with her 7-month-old daughter Emily.
According to authorities, the two were found at a motel last night in Norwalk. Child welfare workers have taken custody of the baby.
Officials say the investigation is in the hands of the Department of Children and Families. They added that they are prohibited by law from commenting on the case.
