All northbound lanes on Interstate 95 in Norwalk reopened Saturday night following a massive fire that forced road closures and damaged an overpass.
Gov. Ned Lamont had announced earlier the lanes would reopen by 8 p.m.
The announcement happened as crews were able to successfully demolish the damaged Fairfield Avenue overpass on Saturday.
News 12's Thomas Krosnowski was on the phone Saturday night speaking to the studio on the reopening of the northbound lanes of I-95.
Officials say the southbound lanes will remain closed until cleanup on those lanes is completed.
Officials have said their goal is to reopen the entire interstate in time for the Monday morning commute.
