The Norwalk Community Services Department is working to keep it simple by signing seniors up for COVID-19 vaccinations, so they do not have to do it themselves.
Chief of Community Services Lamond Daniels says seniors who need help signing up can come out to the city's two public libraries through an appointment.
"It's an online system, so not all of our seniors are text savvy," Daniels says.
Officials at the community services department say they are using the CDC's Vaccine Administration Management System portal to register seniors.
Currently, people under Phase 1A and seniors 75 and older under Phase 1B are eligible to receive a vaccination.
Daniels says city officials are also working to get homebound seniors vaccinated.
"Work with our partners and associations, especially our homebound seniors, to ensure whether it's going through them or doing a mobile clinics, working with our community health centers to kind of meet them where they are," she says.
The city says information on the outreach programs should be available on their website and social media accounts soon.
