Norwalk restaurant forced to close, family displaced following Liberty Square fire

It took an hour to extinguish. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

A Norwalk business and a family are out of a home after a fire Sunday morning at Liberty Square.
Los Molcajetes Mexican Restaurant has been open for 16 years but has been forced to close until further notice.
First responders were altered to a fire around 10 a.m. Fire crews saw heavy smoke coming from the roof. Deputy Fire Chief Adam Markowitz said it was in the “duct ward” of the restaurant.
It took an hour to extinguish. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The apartment directly above the restaurant was also damaged that family is now displaced.
The stores and the apartments to the left and right of the restaurant were not impacted and were cleared to return.
