? The city of Norwalk and its firefighters have reached a tentative contract agreement after years of failed past efforts.
The firefighters? union says the deal came after much compromise, including the union dropping its request for overtime pay for workers. Both parties have agreed on a 3 percent wage raise over several years. Mayor Dick Moccia says the plan is fair and would not burden taxpayers.
The contract will go to the Common Council February 6, which has the final say when it votes on the matter later this month.
