Norwalk layoffs could mean teachers aren't back in Sept.
The last day of school was bittersweet for many Norwalk students today, as some of their teachers are facing layoffs and may not be back in the fall.
Parents and staff at the Wolfpit Elementary School say it's unfair that the school has to suffer more than other schools to make up for a multimillion-dollar budget shortfall.
Officials say 10 employees could be laid off from the school.
The Board of Education says the teachers could avert the layoffs if they would agree not to get raises for one year.
The teachers' union says it has offered to make a number of concessions, but the board has not been willing to negotiate.
