Norwalk man busted for alleged chainsaw rampage
A Norwalk man has been arrested for allegedly going on a chainsaw rampage through his house in what neighbors describe as something out of a horror movie.
George Karahalios, 34, is facing charges for disorderly conduct and assault. According to police, Karahalios used the chainsaw to cut apart the kitchen before trying to assault a family member.
Karahalios? neighbors say he was trying to attack his mother. ?There was saw dust all over the floor,? said neighbor Rob Bray. ?He cut up the cabinets, tried to cut up her wheel chair. It was pretty nasty inside.?
Family members opted not to speak with News 12 Connecticut on camera, calling the incident a family matter. They did mention that Karahalios? mother has left the hospital.
Neighbors say police have been to the residence for disturbances before, but not for anything of this nature. Karahalios is being held on a $50,000 bond.
