A Norwalk man is hoping to compete in the 400-meter dash at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Shnyden Pierre, 24, is a coach for Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse, as well as a sprinter for Team Haiti 2020.
Pierre has been competing nationwide in the Olympic trials four years after an injury kept him out of the 2016 Olympics.
He says he hopes to have an “injury free 2020” and to have a new coaching staff that is focused on bringing him to the Tokyo Olympic games. He added that he is feeling confident and good.
Pierre has set up a GoFundMe to help with his Olympic training.
