A new chief of police has taken the reigns in Norwalk.
Chief James Walsh was sworn in at City Hall Wednesday.
Terrence Blake was also sworn in as deputy chief.
Several officers were promoted to the ranks of lieutenant and sergeant.
Chief Walsh say they have a lot of work to do.
"We're always looking for collaboration and working with the community stakeholders to take care of the issues, problem solving within our community, we can’t do it alone, we need them," said Walsh.
Walsh says he'll continue to focus on recruitment and diversity in his department.
